| Many teachers have failed to contact their students. No excuse will suffice. Edited by Znjones on Sep 8, 2009 10:35 pm | ||

| Thanks, Zachary, for your support. Faculty have been overwhelmed by student response. But Zachary makes an excellent point; we should be in contact with our students to pass along messages and updates so that they know what the issues are and why they are so important--for students, for faculty, and for OU. | ||

| At Oakland University, I feel that I have recieved one of the most positive experiences I've ever had in a learning environment. I have faith that administration and instructors will come to an agreement and give all of us students the opportunity to continue with our education in a healthy happy environment, where everyone is content with the decision. I'm glad to have heard from both OU professors and administration to get both sides of the story. Open Communication is the reason I love this university. | ||

| I agree, for many students the only contact they've had are the snarky emails from Mary Beth Snyder, and now Gary Russi. One of my professors has continued to communicate with us via Moodle and I greatly appreciate it. Not only does it give us the other side of the story, but it reassures us that we will get credit for the semester and that the faculty wants the strike to end soon as well. I wish my other professors would contact us, especially considering that some of my courses are intense and move quickly. Missing days makes me worry about what we'll have to do to make it up. | ||

| As a Senior this year (Engineering) I see this work stoppage as ill-timed, but necessary. I wish you, the Facility, the best of luck with your continuing contract talks. I urge you to hold out for agreeable terms, as this contract will only set the bar for the next. My time at OU has been far too positive for it to end with the Administration stone walling you into a bunk contract. I hate seeing the "Fat Cats" at the top get all that they want. Good Luck.
